Biography:

Jessie Anne MacNair is believed to have been the first Applecross-born woman to graduate from university. She took a first class honours degree in Mathematics from the University of Glasgow and became a school teacher in Achmore and Avoch. In her latter years, she was a tutor to the children of the head of Craig Dunain hospital.
